I loooove cream of wheat! I have an old mill that my friend gave me last year and I still haven't used it. This gives me a reason to bust it out and try!!

I love using mills for this reason. Try some minced fresh ginger sometime, and finish with cinnamon after it’s completed cooking. Nutmeg, star anise, cloves, allspice all work well also. God bless. 😇

I made this and it's delicious. I groud wheat berries in my Komo wheat grinder, added some butter, sugar, and cinamon. Yummy!

I just started making this too! I loved it as a kid but the store stuff hurt my stomach. The fresh ground wheat doesn’t hurt my stomach at all!

Try the recipe for farina pudding in the Joy of Cooking. I make it for breakfast and use half the amount of sugar. 1/2c. wheat, 2 cups of milk, 2 Tbsp. sugar. Cook, then add 2 beaten egg yolks, temper them and whip the whites and fold in. Add a tsp. of vanilla and you can also add a pat of butter if you want.

Do you think you could get the right texture in a vitamix? I don't have a grain mill yet. I tried it in my oat roller and the result was not good.

Since I can't have milk I make mine with water. Could you use water instead of milk with the fresh ground cream of wheat?
