I've been to Spain, England, France, Germany, Austria and Italy this year and the only country I had to properly use English was in London Immigration. The guy asked how long I would spend there, where I would stay, when I would leave and why I would like to visit that city. So the answers were:

1. I'm gonna spend 4 days in London and next Thursday I'm gonna go to Paris.
2. I'll stay at a hotel. Surely I gave him the reservation and also the address.
3. I told him the trip would be for tourism.

In general, as you said in the video, I didn't have to talk that much in English, just some typical expressions as you also mentioned here. However, I might say you helped me a lot once I come back to Europe or any other country, Vanessa!
