1. Aim high in steering.
How do you do it? Imaginary target, baseball, dartboard.
What does it do for you? Centers car in traffic lane. Safe path on turns.
Key phrase: Find a safe path well ahead.
2. Get the big picture.
How do you do it? How wide and deep? What's in it? Objects and ground.
What does it do for you? Keeps you away from billboards. Smooth stops and turns. Buys time.
Key phrase: Stay back and see it all.
3. Keep your eyes moving.
How do you do it? Move eyes. Front two seconds. Rear 5-8 seconds.
What does it do for you? Keeps you alive at interesections. Keeps eyes ahead of car.
Key phrase. Scan, don't stare.
4. Leave yourself an out.
How do you do it? Have escape route. Take path of least resistence.
What does it do for you? Space on all four sides. But always in front.
Key phrase: Be prepared, expect the unexpected.
5: Make sure they see you.
How do you do it? Communicate in traffic. Horn, lights, signals.
What does it do for you? Establishes eye to eye contact.
Key phrase: Don't gamble use your horn, lights, signals.

I like how they want you to remember this that is not Grammar correct and at the same time Drive deliver packages call out what you're seeing and what you're doing while you drive trying to learn the diad and rout and then asking you questions but they want you to be safe🤔

Not 1 person in a class of 38 people knew this 1 day before Thursday drivers training!! Key for me is Q cards!

I was frozen like deer in headlights taking the road test before. The VERY first time driving the package car I got the road test! Did not pass. I just recently came back to UPS to shoot for a driver position again!

This is great for me since I’m a verbal learner and I like to study repetition not flash cards or quizzes

On Rule #1, imaginary target — baseball/dart board.
So you have to imagine a dart board when steering? Imagine the intersection as a dart board or the steering wheel as a dart board? I’m confused on that.
Also, rule 3: keep you eyes moving, front - 2 seconds and rear 5-8 seconds. So basically your watching the rear of your package car more than the front?
Lastly, Rule #5: make sure they see you. Use your horn for instance. Every time I honk at someone I get the finger.

Going to get tested on my 5 and 10 tomorrow i hope they will give me a piece of paper so i can write it in front of them then recite it.
