2024 Election: Donald Trump projected to win Iowa

After late polling showed a close race in Iowa, ABC News projects Donald Trump will win the state.

The state became a topic of conversation over the last few days as the well-regarded pollster Selzer & Co. released a poll conducted on behalf of the Des Moines Register and Mediacom showing Harris ahead by 3 percentage points in the Hawkeye State, a surprising result for a state Trump won by 9 points in 2016 and 8 points in 2020.

It's remarkable how one poll could create so much chaos when it suggests the outcome they desire. If one single poll said Trump was leading in New York by 10 points the media would have immediately disregarded it as a one off anomaly.

Notice how ABC actually found a nice photo of Trump to use in their graphics? Throughout the campaign, Harris was portrayed smiling and happy while Trump was always photographed in a way to make him look dour and bitter.
