I love this! I have been doing this since high school and have changed bibles a few times. I have a NLT I used in college when I struggled with anxiety and I highlighted any verses that really helped in that season with pink and I still pull that bible out regularly in moments of anxiety to help me remember and focus on who God is.

For the last few years I’ve been using a CSB note taking bible and my favorite paper mate ink joy gel pens (not totally bleed proof but I LOVE the bright colors). I don’t have any set color coding because it got too overwhelming for me and distracted me. I became so focused on my method and it looking a certain way that it kept me from just studying. Now I am more free in marking and writing notes. I love including notes from different sources, cross references, word studies, personal application, etc. as I study through books. It’s like I’m creating a personal study bible of my own notes. I always highlight anywhere that specifically describes God’s character because that’s what I need to go back to the most.

I had one like that when I was a kid! A pen and pencil. Who knew it was the perfect tool for God’s word.

Love that pen, just bought one. But just wanted to share, if you can’t get the pen, grab a box of colored pencils. But the pen gives a smoother highlight. I only learned this from this video. So thankful😊

I have found this video pretty late but I just wanted to say as a baby Christian I was overwhelmed by other people’s highlighting method so my method is super simple. Yours is so much better but I am not there yet. I use a pink twistable pencil when something speaks to me. I underline with an erasable pen when I don’t understand and I write in margins with erasable pen. I am much braver at writing in my bible with erasable pen. No pressure for it to be clever or inspiring or even neat.

Yes..I have purchased so many highlighters..yes..I bought those gel, greasy highlighters..NOT to any of those..🥴…
So now I am headed over to Amazon to purchase 8 color pencil..
Yes, I had one of those three color pens in high school..yes, I thought I was cool also..🤣🤣

So, I am just getting to this video - lol! 😅

I got a new Bible, and ordered my pens - so excited about that!!
A couple of questions:
1) admittedly, I can be a little OCD at times, but just for clarity, do you always highlight a whole verse in the same color or break it up in two or more colors?
For instance 2 Peter 1:10
Instruction/growth (therefore brothers & sisters make every effort to confirm your calling & election)
Promises (because if you do these things you will never stumble)?

2) ever use the CSB version? Thoughts?

Hello just found your channel and I am in love. My favorite Bible highligters are the Prisma watercolor pensil erase. They come in a box of 24, 36, or 52 I beleive. I love them because they don't bleed, no ghosting and can be erase. For me they are the perfect Bible marking tools. Have a bles day.

Hi, I re-watched your video and it really made me chuckle out loud. Thanks for the humor :) Finding the right writing tool can be daunting LOL I guess using what is most convenient and works is key. LOL I just use BIC ballpoint pen 4 color pen and colored pencils from Walmart. I also use Sharpie yellow and pink highlighters, using a light hand, not too much pressure and so far that seems to work on Bible paper. But mostly I don't write in my Bible. I use a small notebook or small planner. LOL You made my day. Thank you, be blessed. :) Will continue to watch :)
