I bought one new in 1974 and kept it for 25 years. It was a GREAT car to drive on the highway. I drove it across the US three times and even one time with it being out of tune and it still performed well (I did the timing wrong before that one trip). I found it comfortable on long road trips. I never had trouble finding parts; back 25-30 years ago there were still a few crashed cars in junk yards that could provide some used parts. Road handling was good except the Michelin redline times that came on the car were not good at all on wet roads.

I'm original owner of a 69 and am not sure I'll ever sell it Just but the Vitesse 5 speed in it. Can't wait until spring.

Great cars. I use my TR6 more than the other classics in my collection. Proper sports car

There's a nice example for sale not far from my house. It has the steel hardtop, also a stainless exhaust system and triple Webers. Not a pristine car, would need some attention, but good for someone looking for one. It's in central New Hampshire where we have great sportscar roads, hilly and twisty, not those boring Florida ones. Of course the driving season, if you want to avoid road salt, is shorter. It's not for me, I have a ND Miata and two Jaguars, trying to buy a rusty '71 Alfa 1750 GTV from a New England hoarder, my plate is full. Anyone wanting deets just ask, I'll get them.

Thrust washer wear should be checked. These can fail. Just have someone press on the clutch while you watch the crank pulley.

Swap in a 2JZ and a six speed. Your going to also need a new rear gear.
