Warren Grill: Exploring Deep Brain Stimulation

Warren Grill, professor of biomedical engineering at Duke University, explains his research into the fundamental workings of Deep Brain Stimulation to treat neuromuscular diseases such as Alzheimer's disease and essential tremor. He also delves into his laboratory's research into using temporal patterns rather than constant high-frequency pulses, which would help extend the battery life of the implanted stimulator. The lecture is in honor of Grill's being awarded a Javits Neuroscience Investigator Award, which will fund this research for the next seven years.
