EU citizens with settled status: what rights you have?
Показать описание
EU citizens with settled or pre-settled status: what rights they will have, how they can prove it and how to convert from pre-settled to settled status.
Do you have settled or pre settled status? If so, you may want to know what rights you have in the UK.
If you have pre-settled or settled status you will enjoy the same rights to live, work and study in the UK. You will have access to healthcare, pension and welfare benefits as you did before the UK left the EU. Your eligible family members can also live with you in the UK. If they are not living here now, they can apply to join you once they are ready.
You won’t lose your settled status unless you leave the UK for more than 5 consecutive years. If you have settled status and want to, you can apply to become a British citizenship if you meet all the conditions.
If you have pre-settled status it’s important that this will expire 5 years from when it was issued. If you want to stay in the UK you must apply for settled status before your pre-settled status expires. You can apply as soon as you have lived in the UK for 5 years and if you want to stay here.
Whilst you have pre-settled status you must be resident in the UK for at least 6 months in each 12 months otherwise you will not qualify for settled status. You can have one longer absence of up to 12 months if it is for an important reason.
