I am planning to pass the CAPM exam, I am currently taking Google Coursera PM course "Not recomended". for the past 3 days i was searching for what edition should i use for prep. Some say 6th and others say 7th.I contacted PMI yesterday and told me the exam for CAPM is still based on the 6th but it may change within the next 2-3 months so, I may study the 7th edition. Anyways, my question is: if I take this course and study it well, will I be able to pass the exam ?

I had my PMP certification using PMbok6 and still feel it's the best outline for newbies in Project management.

My concern and question about the pmbok7 is: what happens to project management knowledge areas (Cost, Resource, Integration, stakeholders, scope, communication, etc)? Does the new Pmbok7 mean no more teaching of project management and actual project management from the Knowledge area/processes perspective, but only from the Principles/standards perspective of the 7th edition?

I feel the the new 12 principles/standards of the 7th edition should come to complement and guide the concept of the knowledge areas/processes of the 6th edition, not to replace them.
