This course will provide you with knowledge on the theories of social inequality and marginalization from the perspective of social psychology.
The knowledge gained will allow you to recognize the effects that social inequality has on access to health, well-being and mortality of specific minority groups.
Finally, you will be able to apply this knowledge to various social phenomena presented during the course, such as gender inequalities, systemic sexism and the marginalization of ethnic or sexual minorities (i.e. belonging to the LGBTQ+ community).
The course can be useful for those who preliminarily approach the study of social phenomena, for educators and community workers and above all for all health professionals (psychologists, psychiatrists, nurses, doctors, health workers) who daily interface with individuals and problems related to marginalization and prejudice.
