Beatles guitar lesson PLEASE: Read video description below BEFORE COMMENTING. Redundant comments or questions will be deleted.

Solo 0:30

I eliminated a couple of verses. This is a 1966 Gretsch Country Gentleman played through a Vox AD15VT set to AC30TB w/ no effects. .010 - 046 nickel plated round wound strings. No Tabs.

My videos are really intended for accomplished guitarists who want to polish up their Beatles repertoire and can benefit from "seeing" how a song is played. If the various chords that I am playing are not familiar to you then I would suggest that you visit some of the many free guitar chord sites. I had to learn these songs by listening to vinyl records and watching live performances on tv.

It depends on many factors -- especially your definition of knowing a song. Chord structure for most Beatle tunes is quite simple. Determining riffs, solos and fills can take hours depending on level of complexity and audio clarity. Also, the longer you've been playing the less time it takes. To get all the nuances and play a Beatle song true to the original recording takes a lot longer than just figuring the chords and a riff or two.

The riff at the start is seriously dirty. I love it.

You could have played that D shape chord riff, in another place on the neck with another shape but you did not. That's why it sounds so right to me.Again, you've got that fine detail thang goin on, which is why you are one of THE go to Beatle riff guys on the planet imo.Thanx one more time.

I was going to write the same thing. The Beatles were much better, they had more experience, a better sound and Abbey Road Studio's staff made a good work. To me, on the first album of the Rolling Stones, there are 3 great songs : Route 66, Not Fade Away and Oh! Carol. The rest just doesn't stand the comparison with "Please Please Me" album.

With today's manufacturing methods all decent brands sound/perform the same. I happen to be using Gretsch, but I've used them all and cannot tell the difference in sound, once recorded.
