Finally, unbelievably, I'm living in Kyoto, Japan. How I was able to achieve such a major ambition is still mind-boggling to me.
Getting set up in Japan — in any country, really, but especially Japan — has its quirks and misadventures. The fact that I moved during the summer felt like its own trial, where if I was able to survive these hot, humid months, I would be rewarded with a full life here in this beautiful city.
Join me through the ups and downs of navigating bureaucracy, splurging out at the Kyoto Nintendo store, wandering through the mountains by Kiyomizu-Dera, and more.
