Rasa Pauzaite - Top 5 Tips To Get More From Your Dance Classes

Something that I have often been asked about is how to make the most of classes and get the most out of them. This is important in your regular classes, but also more important in one-off classes or drop in sessions before socials, when classes are busy and you sometimes have a different teacher. This video will help you gain more from classes and improve as a dancer.

Thank you for the awesome tips! It would be great if there could be a video for how to record classes (from which angle, where to focus on during the recording).

Thank you. I love your videos as a new dancer. I'm a muscular guy with combat sports background. My first group class is monday. I had a few personal classes. It will be like ballroom. Salsa, swing. Something like that.

Concerning Tip No 5: “Dance with your teacher!” My teacher is a bloke. (And I am male, too.) Love Lorenz

thank you Raza! I particularly like your recommendation on making a video :) as for dancing with the teacher at the end of the class... I'm hesitant because I know they give personal lessons too... so not sure if they would accept...? the only way for me to know is to try I guess... ;)

Great video! I've been wondering about something similar but regarding the 3-4 days long dance festivals. There is so much information packed in them. As a teacher do you have any tips for those attending to make the most out of them? Also do you have certain expectations from those who attend your workshops in such festivals?

Hi Rasa, I have really improved in knowledge watching your videos and when a new one pops up I watch even at 4:40 am if I'm on Youtube or reading mail. Lol. Could you teach the booty roll and timing? Sometimes it is slow in the back or in the front, How to do it without looking vulgar if you know what I mean. Should it be avoided in social dancing? Is there etiquette? If you don't want to give a man the wrong impression. I wish I didn't have inhibition like some Latin girls. Thank you! Ps I love your top of picking one move or one arm. Baby steps work for me. :))

I feel that intermediate classes just do turns and basic dips. On the dance floor I get led into advanced moves and dips and bows. But when I go to the advanced classes where these are being taught, they tell me I am not at the right level. What to do?!
