@TasteForDisaster The Mbox is designed for you to plug your guitar in directly but if your amp has a Thru Output, you could plug it in to the Mbox. You could also mic your amp and run the mic into the Mbox.

Just an FYI, you can find all of this information on our website which we linked in the vid descriptions in case people had questions. So we thought we'd focus on some of the intangibles in the vid like the new design and physical comparison to the Mbox2. But to answer your question, all of the electronics from preamp, to convertors to internal power supply have been upgraded from the previous Mbox2.

@raket94 It is indeed compatible with Adobe Audition. In all of the newest versions of the Pro Tools software, the ASIO and Wavedrivers are installed by default with the Pro Tools program install. Instructions for using both are in appendix B and appendix C of the getting started guide that comes with the mBox.

@upryz Thanks for the notes! You are right, the Mbox 3 is associated with Pro Tools, and it even has some dedicated hardware controls for the included Pro Tools software. We make sure to mention this in the video. However, Avid does tout the device's flexibility from a software standpoint which we thought was quite important. You can find all of this information on Avid's website and ours. Hope this clears up any confusion the video may have created.

@lolJAEIN I think you may be referring to the 20db pad that is enabled when you pull the level knob out of the MBox. When enabled it allows you to drive a hotter signal without distorting. I hope this helps!

@JeebusBand It does not come with PT 9. It is still shipping with LE 8.

@leparditas Avid maintains that it is compatible with all major recording platforms including Cubase.

This could be a number of issues potentially related to hardware but try this:

Run disk utility and repair permissions, check for a firmware revision at the ProTools site or an update to the driver.

Update everything, clean the registry, delete any older drivers in system preferences, and try again. If the problem persists, I would then check the ProTools site for known compatibility issues.

Are you daisy chaining the MBOX with some other device?

@Demiska Axiom's use USB, so you plug them into the computer. If you plug it into the mbox by midi then only the notes will come out, and not the knobs or levers.

Zero latency monitoring only means that you can listen in on the direct signal entering the box. As soon as you are looking to hear the actual DAW based signal, you are subject to the limitations of the computer. My recommendation for splitting the difference is to bring your buffer size down. Things start to get more reasonable as you get towards 256 and ever more reasonable the further below that you go.
