If I were to learn to code all over again when looking to switch careers into web development as a self-taught developer, this is what I would learn first.

I'll give you an overview of the main technologies, recommend some courses and resources, and explain why this learning path is essential.

Learning to code may seem daunting at first, but remember, every step you take is a step closer to your goal.

It is important to have a good understanding of the big picture and start with the basics.

So, my recommendation for beginners is to focus on front-end development.

Start by learning HTML, CSS, SASS, and JavaScript.

These technologies form the foundation of building the user interface and content representation of a website. As you master these, you'll feel a sense of accomplishment and confidence in your coding skills.

The key takeaways from this video are:

1. Learning to code is a challenging process and there are no shortcuts. It requires a progressive approach and a deep understanding of the big picture.

2. For beginners, it is important to start with front-end development, focusing on HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. The goal is to build a basic website and deploy it.

3. Basic interactions with JavaScript, such as creating a mobile menu and validating a form, should be practiced.

4. It is recommended to take courses or tutorials on HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Some recommended courses on Udemy are "HTML and CSS Tutorial and Project Course" by John Smilga and "JavaScript Tutorials and Project Course" by John Smilga.

6. Combining front-end and back-end skills by building a project that consumes an API endpoint and dynamically displays data is a crucial step.

7. Deploying both the front-end and back-end projects is essential to get a complete understanding of how a web application works.

8. The recommended resources include the "Web Applications for Everybody" course by Dr. Chuck for understanding the basics of web development and the recommended courses on Udemy.
