Summoner who make their summons do all the work is bad summoner, good summoner will play "melee" alongside their summons to increase their dps.

Mage playetts will have 5 seperate weapons in their hotbar each for a specific use. "what if i magically find myself in the duggeon or underworld when im just going fishing in the ocean?"

Honestly summoner really isn't that bad and it's actually pretty fun and challenging. Especially when you get to the good summons. Everybody always trashes it all because of the early game stuff and low defense but you can't knock it 'til you try it.

Personal as a ranger who love playing solo Calamity, I can usually fill multiple adrenaline meters depending on how long the boss survives. Although I have been playing for almost 10 years 😅.
