When Iggy was asked if Jet stole his song, he said something along the lines of “yeah, probably? But I stole it from Motown, so whatever”

"It is not illegal to be inspired by someone" is a concept that way more people need to understand.

“Isn’t this a Motown beat? I don’t think either of these bands came up w this.” Love you for this. “Can’t Hurry Love” by the Supremes.

King of a weird choice in the Paramore/Olivia Rodrigo comparison to use not only a live version of Misery Business, but probably one of her worst performances of that song where saying she was "pitchy" would be an understatement.

13:22 can we talk about how both the songs on top of each other sound SO much better than either song individually? The e-flat major sounds warmer and more nostalgic than the e major for some reason and I just love the overall richness the layering provides

Join Good 4 U and Misery Business together in a Good 4 U, Olivia sings about how torn up she is about a breakup and how fast the guy recovered; Misery Business is about Hailey Williams harboring a grudge against a popular girl who stole a boy she likes, and the vindictive pleasure she felt after stealing him back. The mashup combines the narratives into one, with Olivia filling the role of the popular girl who initially stole the boy, and Hailey filling the role as the emo girl who got him back, with their individual lyrics detailing their respective reactions to these events.

Thanks to the Patrons who make these videos possible even with all the record label claims! If you see a comment from days ago when the video is new, that's them with their early access :)

The Kelly Clarkson and Beyonce one is hilarious... their producer just made two super generic pop songs at the same time and gave one to each of them! He pulled a fast one!

Not sure I'd say the Kelly Clarkson and Beyoncé songs were "very different." John Williams borrows from himself all the time and it sounds like that guy did, too.

Oooh, love this kind of video!
I usually struggle with this type of stuff so I really appreciate these side-by-side comparisons!

A recent example that makes me go "Is this a copy? Is it inspired by sth else? Or am I just hearing things?" is Ray Dalton's "All we got".
Whenever I hear that song on the radio my brain just auto completes it with "Fallen Leaves" by Billy Talent ...

It makes sense that 'This Means War' sounds like a Metallica song, though. The whole 'Hail to The King' album was basically a tribute to that era of metal.

When I first heard Good4U, I told my wife it sounded like Misery Business on Zoloft. Glad to see I'm not the only one who noticed the similarity.

Kelly Clarkson once performed Already Gone and in the middle of the song she started to sing Halo. She is unbelievable! ❤

I don't understand how the ones that sound closest to me, Roomie doesn't hear. Then the ones that I don't hear, Roomie's like "that's exactly the same" lol

Joel still not able to pronounce Cheryl after all these years makes me happy!

It's funny how Lady Gaga got the last laugh as she was brought in for Top Gun: Maverick

Fun fact about the Nick Jonas song, Jason said this about it "I heard the song, and it was just a tremendous, tremendous horror of a tune. I noticed a few similarities in the melody, but it wasn't enough to pick up the phone and argue with somebody about it. If anything, I just wanted my $1.29 back that I spent on iTunes".

Nice video, haven’t watched your videos many years but I am glad to see you’re doing well. I also like that you play the pieces of the songs despite issues of copyright claiming, it makes the video much more enjoyable to watch.

Avenged's Hail to the King was a "tribute" album to Metallica, A7x do not hide that the songs are inspired by Metallica. Metallica are great friends with A7x and even invited them on a world tour WITH THAT album. Every time I see people comparing the songs I find it hilarious cause that's the whole point. It's a tribute to the King. thus . Hail to the King.

Whenever someone says that a certain genre all sounds the same, that's how you immediately know they don't listen to that genre...
