🚨 Correction on Offsec & AI Use in the OSCP Exam 🚨

I want to clarify something about the OSCP exam that I misspoke about in this video. OffSec does not allow the use of AI tools (like ChatGPT) during the exam. In fact, using any AI tools or even having AI suggestions enabled on searches will result in an automatic failure. I appreciate those of you who pointed this out—thank you for helping me make sure accurate info gets shared!

Guys step 0 is 100% true I applied for a support specialist role at a credit union and I met the IT manager there and they took me over people that were way more qualified. I had 0 experience and here I am just hitting my one year!! Keep trying guys I promise you someone will see you!

Just started the Google IT Support certificate a couple of days ago and I am super happy about it. I feel like once I completed I can do my CompTIA A plus. I hope to land a help dest job this year. I am getting tired of fast-food work. Having no degree doesn't help but I am glad I am making a turn around in my life. I just want to keep learning and get these certificates. It feels like a video game

This is a great roadmap for getting started in IT! Thank you for putting this out.
I've been working in security for a few years now and always encourage people to join into this career. This video is going to come in handy.

I am a 15 year old student at school, but your Free CCNA course and your Linux for Hackers course that I worked through a year or two ago has sparked a love for home labbing and networking as well as especially linux. I have gained a lot of insight about the IT pathway through this roadmap which will certainly help me in this regard. I have a fairly basic home lab, consisting of two proxmox servers (inspired by your VM vid), a Synology NAS and an old Mikrotik router paired with a switch.
As always, I have enjoyed your videos and look forward to what the world of IT has in store for me. Thanks a million Chuck for getting me hooked on this vast and facinating journey!

I got my CCNA because of you. I watched all of your CCNA videos and then purchased the official CCNA cert guide and I was off to the races! Thank you so much and great roadmap vid, for newcomers and for those who are still struggling on the path! Got my CCNA and helpdesk job, its just a matter of time before I get that sweet sysadmin job I am dreaming of.

It happened a few weeks ago.. before you made this video.. But I DID get my first IT job with zero experience! After YEARS of job hunting. I attribute so much of the opportunity I’ve been given to your tutorials and advice. I know you get praise all the time, but seriously, thank you. I got a 20k pay raise and am positioned to work my way up from here. Keep doing what you are doing, and you’ll never truly know the impact it has. This job changed my life.

Great video Mr. Chuck, like always amazing content. I am almost 57 i worked on the IT field since 2004 but i don't have all the knowledges i would love to have. i started my path when i came to USA with 33 years old, never saw a computer on my entire life. I got my A+ on my own time, then Network+, some active directory courses, system administrator cert and worked. everything i learned was working with other people and learning on the way, school gave me the papers but not enough knowledges, so like you said it is good to have the certification or bachelors but they don't teach you everything, just the basics. it is on you the rest. now i am a senior IT administrator but every time i watched your videos i get fired up again, now i want to be a cybersecurity guy, the way you show the option, and the free resources and guidance you gave up for free are invaluable. I really appreciated everything you do. Thanks .

This video is GOLD for me! I even recorded it for myself just to have it in case it vanishes from the network. I worked an "IT" job at AT&T for 2 years/ now I'm jobless and I was rejected 10 times this year, but I keep applying and learning more, building more, I LOVE hardware first, software second, built my first PC 10 years ago, and started with Kali Linux at the same time, I abandoned that because I was confused what and how to learn but I know how I felt. IT kept me wanting to wake up early and hack(even tho I didn't know shit about it....still don't) But I'm gonna go down this path and get good at this, simply because I love it. I'm "old" (37), but if I get my dream job/place where I don't feel like I'm working rather than living by the time I'm 39, I would sign it right now! Thank You Chuck.

I have been following this channel for a long time. I have acquired Comptia A+, Net+, Sec+, and CCNA. Many thanks to the content of this channel and videos like this one that give some form of guidance to people trying to break into the IT world. I've learned after acquiring all those certifications that indeed experience is king. Get a job and network, work your way up, acquire certs along the way. I'm currently in my second job in the IT field and still hungry to progress and grow. Love this channel and all that you do Mr. Chuck!

This is unbelievable. I was just watching your 2023 guide a few hours ago, and now you've updated it! How fortunate. Bless you

I really appreciate this. I am currently in my first IT job with no prior directly applicable experience. I am constantly afraid they are going to cut their losses with me because I'm 6 months in and not performing as well as I could be. This is really helpful and reaffirms gaps in my growth process. I'd also be eager to hear your 'more detailed' version if you made it. Subscribed.

I helped my work so much with IT issues, and ended up getting a cybersecurity position. It's my foot in the door, but ethical hacking, troubleshooting, and making things work is where I want to get to!

Chuck, you’re amazing! I followed you in mid 2023, got my A+, network+, studying for my sec+ and I landed a job in helpdesk after I got my a+. All of 2024, I had a helpdesk job and I’m still here but it taught me so much! This road map helps me so much! So thank you!!!! 🙏🏼 Can’t wait to see your Academy !!! You’re awesome brotha 😎

Love the videos, at 56 I have decided to take an interest and learn IT for a second job. Your videos have become my rabbit hole of late. Thanks and keep them coming.

I just started as a Palo Alto TAC. The amount of stuff I’ve learn here is amazing and the YouTube has never been so amazing for me. Everything is for free, you don’t have to pay for anything at all.

Certification is okay if you can get your company to pay for it. I been doing labs on firewalls, bootstrapping Linux and tweaking things in that. Breaking them and fixing them. It’s fun!!

And thanks again chuck, you’ve been helping a lot of people who are getting started and who are already in the industry. Love your work man!
