I went to trade in my jeep last week and they gave me a price to purchase it from me and they weren’t too happy when I told them I’ll accept that price but I have a seller additional markup of $5000 and I had nitrogen tires that I’m going to charge them $1000 for

There still is an inventory problem, and an inflation problem. Yes, I'm sure they are starting to sweat because they are overleveraged, but it is still not a good time to buy. You'll know when it's time to buy when you see "market adjustments" gone and some dealerships failing and/or laying off staff.

Got news for everyone…even with a $2000 discount the used market is still waaaay over priced. Don’t buy unless you absolutely must. And then do so knowing you are eventually going to lose on that premium when prices normalize.

There’s never a good time to buy any CAR, especially from a dealer!

Wait and don't buy a car right now. Do not ignore macro economic signals. Save your money they just started bleeding why would you bail them now?

I would avoid buying a car period, unless you really really have to. Here in Miami the car lots are empty.

Still a poor time to buy a used or new car! Let the dealers suffer for a while, when they start to really panic later this fall, look again.

It may be the best time in over a year to buy a car but I still want to wait for chip shortage to go away.

I got my new 22 ram 1500 for less than I would would a used one. Zero markup and deep discounts at Ram of the west in Lancaster.

I know that this is skewed toward deanships, but what if we try to leave them out of the equation as much as possible and do a private party purchase. Avoid the dealership as much as possible.

I guess sales are slow on new cars as well. I have a dealer emailing me every day and I allready told him a few times that I was not looking to buy a new car. They backed off and then came back asking what am I currently driving because perhaps they can make me an offer so that I can get into a new car. Panicking at the dealership!!! LMAO..

I tried to trade in my car recently and they tried to get me to buy $5000 worth of dealer add ons. Lol they were insane.

Yeah, i held out but my 2005 Chevy Avalanche was becoming a problem for towing our 25 foot travel trailer. I bought a 2018 Chevy Silverado from CarMax for a cool price early last month since i had it shipped from Oregon to Sacramento. The price was locked but I received several messages from Carvana, Truecar, Vroom etc. saying the vehicle prices i had expressed interest in increase in price. Now that i have my truck I’ve been receiving message saying prices are decreases. This market man!

Now is the time to buy new also.Find what you want at msrp, and get a huge trade allowance for your old leaky f150.

Save $2000 on an 15, 000 overpriced car. Sounds like another deal to me.

An important consideration is maintenance and availability of parts. If your current vehicle is working for you, it’s not a bad idea to stay put right now. People forget that a car is primarily an appliance. Buying a replacement vehicle comes with many initial costs. Sales tax, dmv fees, floor mats, accessories, etc. Try to spread those costs out over a longer period of time by keeping your car for a longer period of time. Used to be simpler, but now people want all the latest tech. Upgrading a radio has become quite a challenge and compromise for most. Leasing is generally a losing proposition.

I would buy now....if you wait to March and April, dealers know you have your little tax money and its ready to fly out your pockets..Lol.. they are going to play hard ball.

When the new car supply returns to normal, then ALL cars will come down in price. Wait until next February.
