Can anyone else please admit they understand the restaurant?

The employee and restaurant should absolutely be reported. Interfering and denying a service dog is a class C felony in Washington state. You should have let them call the police on themselves.

It's illegal for restaurants to deny service to a disabled person and their service animal. Let them call the police. They will be the ones in trouble.

Please file a complaint with the ADA in regard to what happened. This man obviously has gotten away with this on a regular basis. You were discriminated against and this man broke the law.

I am sure that you no longer would want to support anyone like this or go back, but he needs to be reported so it doesn’t happen to someone else.

You should've told him to call the police. He would be on the 9 o'clock news

And this is why I say Paul doesn’t realize he’s giving a voice to the disabled community without realizing it ! Thank you Paul- for sharing that not all disabilities are clearly labeled and visible but we deserve to be treated fairly regardless of our status !

“Do you see any other dogs in this restaurant?!” “Uh no I’m blind” was the only appropriate response. So sorry you got discriminated against, and I hope you know how much we all love and respect you and Mr Maple!

You absolutely should report the restaurant. Even if you rightly never want to step foot in that establishment, that was rude, illegal, and ought to be held accountable. Insane and I'm so sorry you had to go through that

That's Horrible. I'm in a wheelchair & some places make it so obvious that they don't want people coming into their Restaurant/Cafe etc that have disabilities, especially people in wheelchairs. Or I'll go in a shop & I make it obvious I need assistance. The worker walks straight passed me. They Ignore me & serve someone else. So I go up to the counter & complain that this particular person totally ignored me & served another customer, when I was clearly in the shop before them. I then say "obviously my money isn't good enough for you, so I'll take my money elsewhere". Somewhere where I'm treated like an ordinary decent person. Where they see me & not just my wheelchair.

He wasn't happy just asking you to leave, he mocked you, was verbally abusive and threatened you. I'm disabled, and on more that occasion I've had to be way more assertive than I'm comfortable. I do it not for myself, but for all the people who didn't have the knowledge, gumption or verbal skills that I do. These kind of people are bullies. If it happens again, go outside as directed and call the police yourself. File a police report. Describe the person who was abusive. Tell them what happened, show them the evidence you have, stress how upset you are, and that you expect better in Seattle. 💖

You handled this so well. Please file a complaint, even if you plan never to go back. It will spread awareness.

Oh, Paul. I am so sorry. Before you do that, file a complaint against the restaurant for defying ADA rules. The restaurant had no right to kick you out!

That hateful restaurant worker will never know the joy you have in your life. Thank you for sharing. ❤

Just say “ok” and let the police show up, it’s more of a bad look on them when they get shit on for refusing a disabled person service.

People who try to pass their dogs off as "service animals" that bark, jump, and react to people and other dogs have literally ruined it for the REAL SERVICE animals out there. It's sad.

Should've let him call the police 100%. They'd sort him out ♡

I have been following your channel for a while now and I always recognize the good in you, the intentions you want to pass on and the positive contact you maintain with your community.

Your channel is a beacon for many people and that should be appreciated.

Please keep up the good work and don't let people get you down. They just don't know any better.

I wish you continued success.

Best regards from Austria

"You're looking right at me." is the same as telling a deaf person their ears are right there

You need to file a formal complaint that they violated the ADA and discriminated against you. Or at bare minimum I would contact the owner or general manager of the establishment and explain what happened… that employee should be fired. He broke the law.

And also he’s not allowed to speculate or inquire about your disability!!! He’s allowed to ask if it’s a service dog and what tasks they perform. That is it! And you do not owe anyone such kindness when they are discriminating against you! But you have such a big heart and are just sweet no matter what.❤

Go back and let them call the police. Given the officers aren't equally dumb, imagine how embarrassing it has to be for him to have to explain that he didn't believe you 'cause walking in with a service dog doesn't make you look "blind enough" for him. Then thank him for calling the police for you so you don't have to do it and complain to them for the discrimination you just had to experience, on top of it in public.
