"you don't use it you lose it" - thank you! That's what I've been feeling!

After hearing that "622" track yesterday I immediately went and bought that album because I lived it so much. Heard this track and was like, "I need it!". When you release that next album I've got dibs. Great content as always Bob.

From just hearing Bob talk about concert key and tenor key, I realized another circle of fifths trick. From any start point, going clockwise, skip one key and I'm at the related tenor key and go one more to the Alto key. Concert C. Tenor D. Alto A.
I could be wrong so, correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm transcribing Ad Lib Blues by Lester Young and it is in concert C. There are a lot of interesting licks but they do lay a bit weird on the horn. Fun stuff though. Concert Gb has to be my least favorite key right now just because I don't practice it.

Sorry Bob, but after seeing that freakin' slice of bacon on that "Long John", I didn't hear a single damn word you said. ;-)

FWIW, I love hearing you play straight-ahead stuff. That's code language for let's hear more!

The key of C is the hardest one for me as well! Everything seems so obvious, yes.
Damn it, how can it be so difficult!?

Hi Bob, what's the track you use in the background for the first part of the video? It's really sweet

I also find concert C on tenor quite uninspiring. Concert A Minor also is the same way for me, maybe the fingerings and intervals are strange? Who knows.

Hey,
Few questions:
1.what were the songs you were preforming at your gig and that last little tune at the end called?

2. Being a amateur saxophonist and soloist in high school, what would you recommend would be good tunes to practice if your thinking about doing gigs here and there? Any keys (guessing anything besides the key of C) that you would recommend? And how do you keep in a certian key while preforming then transition into another either for just a measure or a whole phrase?

3. Your style and sense of rhythm was the first thing i was sorta drawn with your playing and i was wondering how and what would you recommended for trying free-styling and improve my sense of variety with rhythms?

4. And lastly, how do you and your band A. pick the songs your gonna preform, and B. deal with what key and transitions and endings?

Thank you for your videos again!
Jo

Bob, please stop eating junk food! No ready made bars, eat vital food like fruit and vegetable and home made stuff and bio - for your energy! I enjoy these clips a lot!

It's concert F# for me. I hate it.

I'm with you on that key, Bob. I wonder what it is about it? Anyone got an answer?

What, I thought your least favorite key would be Ab (joke joke). Also, more of a nit-picky question; how long does a box of reeds (let's say 5) last you? I have a growing problem where 5 barely last me two weeks and is becoming expensive.
