Fortunately my friend isn't an idiot and still has the car. It was only a year or two afterward that muscle car prices took off into the stratosphere (they bought several muscle cars of similar condition and specs during that time for around the same money... flipped several for a few grand profit, but nothing like what was coming in the near future). It's almost amazing that neither of us died in that car, or killed the car itself, since his Dad cut us loose with it as we wished when were 16... Closest I could get to growing up in the '60s but 30 years too late.

Original survivor cars like this are way cooler and more interesting than polished within an inch of their lives fancy show cars. It wears every one of its years and miles with pride. Just gas up and drive and don't ever restore! Only original once!
