Your 4x 400 mil is over the real value. You can only get 3.888 injectors in 30 days. When I was doing this the profit was only 100-200 mil. My real profit was using these accounts for PI. Selling the injectors paid for the plex and the PI paid for everything else. I had 5 accounts going 4 where SP farming and I plexed them for over a year. I got bored so I let them all run out currently have about 10 bill sitting on one of them. If I kept doing the PI all year it would probably be around 100 bill but I only did it when I needed isk.

not sure if its been mentioned yet. but using extractors to hit that 5m mark is by far the least efficient way to start up the sp farm.

using injectors you are looking at roughly an 8b startup cost per character like you said, and assuming a 400m profit, that is going to take roughly 20 months to even begin to turn a real profit.

while it might take slightly longer before you can begin extracting, it is much cheaper to plex the account for 3 months (lets call this 3.6b assuming plex prices are high, could be much less) spend the 20-30 minutes running a new character through the NPE, far enough to get the mini-skill injector. that mini injector gives you enough to train cybernetics to at least lvl 4 (I think it gets you part way through V or possibly even all the way, its been a while since i've started one up) switch to an int+mem remap and plug in some temporary +3's until cybernetics V is trained (should be under a week) then switch to +5's

by the end of the 3 months, you should be sitting at ~6m sp, meaning your total setup cost should be right around 4b per character, or 10 months to pay for itself. or 12-13 months total including the training time to get started.

Why would you inject an sp farm character? You'll need 10 injectors and then a plex to start training as well as the 2 implants. That means you'd have to wait 14 months just to start making a profit on the character.. Also you only get 3, 88 extractors per month at max sp/hour.

The payback time is currently about 1½ year each char you decide to start up from alpha to 5 million using skill injectors

There is alot of people with alts that have their skillset "complete" and just doing this. Becouse of that farming injectors will never generate significant profit. Only value here is that you can PLEX and play the game by forfeiting SP gain. Doing what is proposed here (10 injectors) is going to bring return on investment after more than a year. Alpha account will take 5 months of checking skillqueue on each of them (and initial investment on implants). New people will loose their +5 implants becouse its EVE. Furthermore if they dont know how to use such alt to generate profit from other sources they will get severely dissapointed.
