I got this for Christmas! Is there a recipe book dedicated to this product? I can't find one.

Neat idea. I had the original and liked it very much but it did not last a year. The heating coil stopped working and there was a recall so they were very good on the replacement. I used the money to get the new version. The newer version differs in a couple ways. The slow cooker on the new one does not require water to on the inside to use the slow cooker and it just works off heating the air with the little coil in the bottom and the slow cooker insert sits on top of that and no it does not heat anything to even the lowest temps. The programing of the smoker is kind of difficult. It involves clicking the same buttons to make it do different things. You better get your sequencing right because if you don't it will default to either not cooking or the slow cook. Lastly, I'm on my second smoke. I tried the slow cooking 5 times and it was absolutely worthless and never worked. I currently have chicken with apple chips in and it tells me that it is on hot and I have done two 4 hours cycles of trying to cook but the heating element is only warm to the touch. Frankly, I know I will have to bake the chicken and salmon and I'm tired of dicking with this stupid thing and I'm just going to throw the whole thing away so that nobody is cursed with this crap.

Do I still insert the smoking chamber and/or lid when slow cooking?
