In today's video, we take a look at how Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania are preparing to deter and defend themselves against a possible Russian aggression.

The Russia Ukraine war has further fuelled the Baltic states' fears of possible Russian aggression. If a Russia-NATO war were to take place, it will likely be fought in the Baltic Sea region.
How are Latvians, Lithuanians and Estonians preparing for such an eventuality? And what is the military potential of the Baltic states?

A motivated and organised resistance is often underestimated. Remember the project was, " Kiev in three days and ukraine in two weeks" yet Ukraine was not nearly as prepared.

Nato battlegroups are “much better equipped” than local forces has a bad ring to it. Yes we don’t have main battle tanks and jets, but otherwise we purchase according to highest standards of Nato. In addition we sell our military hardware produced domestically to the US and other member states. This clip does a good job raising awareness, but don’t underestimate the Baltics.

Not always money is a problem - Baltic states can make purchase but equipment only will be delivered few years after payment. I know that Latvia want reach about combat ready 60 000 men. And all three Baltic states building defense line near border with Russia and Belarus.

NATO first line is Baltic states. NATO should have there at least 50k soldiers stand by all the time.

Most Russian speakers from Latvia live abroad. I am one of them. There are only old age pensioners in Daugavpils, for example and school age children. Many schools closed down. Population of Daugavpils is about 50, 000 instead of 144, 000 like it was before the USSR collapse.
