I always go straight out as far as I can, and then cut to the right. If its a sharper turn I will sometimes get the tractor all the way over into the lane to my left whether its an oncoming traffic lane or not to make sure my trailer will clear any ditches/signs/power poles

What if you have to turn sharply enough that you can no longer see the trailer in your convex mirror? I drive a daycab so I can cheat and look out the back window but you can't do that in a sleeper.

What if you have a load of turkey and the load has more on one side?

If the left hand turn lane is blocking your right hand turn. How would waiting for them to have a green allow them to get out of your way to proceed forward?

They'd be stuck, because their opposite traffic(who has the right away before they do) would no doubt pull up behind you, waiting for you to move. And they can't make their left because now those cars are blocking.

The only option at some intersections is to wait for them to back up. Especially if they're beyond the white line, like we all know they do.
