The most shocking part for me, is that almost the entire crew got killed while saving the passengers, those machinist guys stayed below deck the entire night to pump the water out, without those guys the Titanic would sink faster, they sacrificed themself to give the passengers more time to evacuate. Those guys knew they would die, but they kept doing there jobs. You have to respect those hero's.

I was crazy about Titanic when I was a child.

I don't know why I'm still interested in this. As a kid, all I did was build model ships like the titanic just to sink them. Even added 3 different compartments inside so that it could sink like the titanic. Also, started adding pennies to the front so it could actually sink because it was so light. Never really worked out because it obviously couldn't split in half but great memories. I got lazy and started making them out of cardboard boxes and pizza boxes. Good alternatives

I remember reading about the Titanic sinking in 4th grade. Condolences to those who lost relatives 100 or some years ago, but the ship, when it was in the process of sinking, always fascinated me. It still does.

Another interesting note, some of the rich men refused to leave titanic. Benjamin Guggenheim was famously heard saying "

my older sister used to bug me about the film when I was 8 she kept playing the theme song drawing the titanic sinking and even borrowed a book from the library just to bug me but years later I got her back with the human centipede lol

If you guys have seen the movie you probably know that the music played while the boat was going down actually happened. The four men all played to calm down the passengers. The violinist was using a violin that his wife had given him before the trip. He was offered to be put on a life boat but didn't want to. The he put the violin back in the case that had his initials on it. The violin in the case was found and sold in an auction for thousands of dollars.

it was predicted years before it sank. There was a novel that featured a luxury ocean liner that was the largest of the time and that sunk after hitting an iceberg. The name of the fictional ship....The Titan (not a joke or a misspelling)

Men were literally grabbing other people's children in order to hop onto a lifeboat and be rescued. I mean, can you even imagine? Lifeboats meant for 60+ people just sailing away, some with less than 15. So tragic.
