This Fire Night Build harnesses the power of the Spear of the Impaler. A powerful weapon you can obtain from killing one of Shadow of the Erdtree’s main bosses, Messmer the Impaler.

You’ll typically want your vigor to be at least 60 for this build because the protection is very low and the enemies in the DLC hit very hard. I have 25 mind but honestly this can be reduced to 20 since the messmers assault weapon skill doesn’t use much FP at all. I also have 25 endurance so I equip the spear of the impaler and the necessary armor to reach at least 50 poise. You’ll need at least 14 strength and 35 dexterity to wield the spear of the impaler and since it scales the highest with dexterity, I increased my dexterity to 43 so I could add a bit more physical attack power. The highest stat on this build is faith at 80.

The main weapon on this build is a fully upgraded spear of the impaler. This spear can only be obtained after killing Messmer and trading in his remembrance. 342 physical attack power, 410 fire attack power, B tier scaling for dex and C tier scaling for faith.

In my left hand I have the fire knights seal. This seal is perfect for this build because boosts the damage of messmers flame incantations.

The main incantations on this build will be Golden Vow which increases your offense by 15% and defense by 10%, Flame Grant Me Strength which increases your physical and fire affinity attack power by 20%, and fire serpent which is your main fire spell and benefits from the damage boost of the fire knight seal.

The talismans I’m using focus heavily on increasing the effectiveness of messmers assault. First, I have the dragon crest great shield talisman which enormously boosts physical damage negation. Next, the shard of alexander which greatly boosts the attack power of skills adding 15% extra damage to messmers assault. Im also using the fire scorpion charm which increases fire damage by 12% and lastly, the axe talisman which increases the damage of your charged heavy throwing attacks by 10%.

For my wondrous physick mix Im using the flame shrouding cracked tear which boosts the damage of your fire attacks and the spiked cracked tear which boosts the damage of your charged heavy throwing attacks.

Oil-Soaked Tear (new from the DLC) is another great option in the physick as it amplifies fire damage by applying the oil coating effect on all enemies

Love this weapon. For bosses I mainly use the first part of the skill. That fire swipe move is nice and works fine by itself. Sometimes I throw in the second part with the stabs. I never really use the last part unless I have enough time to.

Love this build, nice that you can easily pivot to Euporia and a variety of other faith weapons (sans the bonks) if you’re looking for a different damage type.

My favorite messesmr build is anything with frost he slows down and makes the fight alot easier honestly like those attacks where if you had just a second more he would have missed your healing animation and you could have rolled just in time.

i have the great katana at 50 dex and 50 arcane, and it's does a lot of poise damage too, really overpowered weapon... Bleed damage is insane with seppuku

For Faith bill I love to use the hammer from the last Regional boss of the base game the slam attack clears the field

The worse bit of the Messmer boss is that when you enter and trying to summon your mimic, he certainly will always dive into you and then follow up with that AoE. Need to keep calm and timed those dodge. I end up using the Dragon Hunter Katana to cheese him off.

i ran through most the dlc using new weapons and builds they all do really well, i did a build like this up until the final boss and then it was straight back to bloodfiends arm. The last boss feels awful if you have to cast a spell or an ash of war that takes a while to work through. The fire knight builds tho are extremely fun, same with the lightning stuff from the new death knights. unfortunately 9/10 times bleed is just gonna do more overall damage.

Lol I'm using fire knights shortsword, great sword and messmers spear with fire knights seal and the fire spark perfumer bottle and shield with for knight armor with perfumers talisman, fire scorpion charm, dragon crest greatsheild talisman with the pearl Drake talisman with all fire knight incantations with fire dragon incant and flame Grant me strength with golden vow and flame shrouded cracked tear with stone barb cracked tear. I put my build together without watching any build videos lmfao XD. I had a big brain idea and went with it I guess. Good video bud.

Build is good.. But THE DRIP! The armor, the weapon, everything burns, it all looks so cool and flashy... hard to beat this aspect of this build.

But yeah, great ranged options, amazing aoe options, great single target damage... lacking in stance damage, but thats not what you expect from such build anyway. Love it

Cloning Messmer’s remembrance for Messmer’s Orb is a good add on too, very good spell but no hyper armor.

This is pretty amazing, but it might struggle a bit toward messmer and midra which is stronger against fire. But against scadutree avatar it will do pretty damn nice since it weak vs fire (I spew a full arcane full damage buffed fire dragon breath and it gone in an instant).
