The Wheelock & Fire-Lite voice evacuation fire alarm demonstration board has new alarms and messages! In this system test, the usefulness of voice evacuation systems is seen by showing what they can do during a fire and any other emergency, such as a chlorine alarm. My local swimming pool has a Chlorine alarm tied into a Fire-Lite voice evac system. NAs are System Sensor L-series speaker strobes including some weatherproof advances outside, in the indoor pool, and shower area.

Chlorine alarms normally would be triggered by a sensor, because people who would pull a manual alarm would already be experiencing severe distress or death. There's a similar type of alarm for HVAC systems using ammonia-based vapor cycles (in some very large chillers) that is sensor-activated.

I have a question regarding that Wheelock RSSA: I was looking at it on eBay, and there’s a sticker that says something like “not to be used as a public notification appliance”. Does that mean that it can’t be used for a general non-fire emergency in a public setting?

Very interesting use of the alert strobe and TrueAlert speaker! I have seen a similar setup to this but instead of a chlorine/chemical alarm, it was for an emergency shutdown. Also by the shutdown pull station was a 270 SPO, but it was special since it was branded by EST and General Electric

Awesome test, Grant! I Love the chlorine Alarms, they look awesome! Definitely a great idea to have up, especially when the chlorine alarms are connected to the TrueAlert !

Awesome system test. Love the chlorine hazmat alert system. I have a suggestion for the next system test, firstly install that co2 system release pull station. And see if you can program a custom voice message to indicate the discharge of the co2 fire extinguishing system. Just like you did with the hazmat system.

The voice is not that great for the chlorine alarm, it’s not a chlorine alarm reported, it is a chlorine emergency.
