DRE: Implementation and Teaching Strategies (Case Study 1 of 3)

The first of three case studies, this session will profile DRE implementation at Pitt Community, Tri-County Community College, and Coastal Carolina Community Colleges. Emphasis will be on curriculum materials, scheduling, and the integrated reading and writing instructional cycle. In addition, approaches for offering DRE 099, the developmental co-requisite that accompanies ENG 111, will be highlighted.

The presenters are members of the DEI Eng/Reading Task Force who helped craft the new DRE curriculum. These colleges have piloted and/or will implement the new DRE courses Fall 2013.
