Tony hit those drums like they owed him money. Oh what a great intro.

When John plays, it's like he's still the teenager who fell in love with music. How fortunate to have found a true passion in life.

This guy was so irritatingly handsome back in the day, few people noticed or could accept that he was also an outstanding bass player.

John Taylor is not only an amazingly talented musician but also a wonderful storyteller by going in deep with the art of creating music and developing his own identity as an artist. Simply Phenomenal.

JOHN TAYLOR, the original 80s boylet. ❤
Thank you, Sir, for the wonderful history lesson. 👍

This is the biggest difference between the real music from the 80’s/some 90’s and earlier. Musicians like Duran Duran had real talent in writing and playing music. Brilliant and a true force in music.

RIP to Tony Thompson and Robert Palmer! #goneTOOsoon

Tony's intro was amazing and really set the tone for this song; you just knew something powerful was about to come on and knock your socks off. You guys didnt disappoint!

"he Power Station" album is still in heavy rotation for workouts and road trips 36 years later!

These tutorials are the answer to my prayers: an inside look into how these songs were created and, best of all, what is/was up with the bassline. Thanks!

I wish more famous artists would reach out to their fans or music fans in general. Such an in-depth look into how they created their songs. Thank you John 🎸👍😎

This song was a killer back in the day, and is still on my playlist in 2021. Everything was just perfection....Roberts vocal's, Tony's phenom drumming and of course John's bass❤

"Similar to 'Coming Out, ' but with steroids!" and Robert Palmer's "restless, progressive muse" -- John's lovely and endearing tribute to Power Station and his lost comrades -- John you do have soul indeed. My weekly Thursday smile.

John, you have no idea how much I appreciate these mini-tutorials. The first song I ever learned on bass was "Save a Prayer", all the way back in 1985. So many amazing Duran Duran songs and phenomenal bass lines - "Last Chance on the Stairway" and "Rio" were two of my favorites. I learned everything off the Power Station album as well. That said, Notorious is still my overall favorite DD album - I learned every song off it and would play the album start to finish on bass regularly. Your playing and composition were, and are, inspiring to me 35 years later - any time I feel myself needing 'centered' on bass, I put on early Duran Duran and get back to my roots. Thank you so much for taking the time to do these videos!

These are so fun, thanks John! I was lucky to see Robert Palmer back in the 80’s. Imagine the balls on that guy to sing “I didn’t mean to turn you on” . Dude was the James Bond of rock..
