Put your (plastic) water bottles in your freezer. They keep your food cold once the electricity goes out because they'll freeze, they don't cause an excess of standing water like bagged icecubes and when the electricity has been out for multiple days you have something cold you can pull out to drink in order to cool down in the heatwave that ALWAYS follows these storms.

I moved out of FL. in 2022. Tomorrow I am traveling on a pre-planned business trip. Imagine the people that live in FL. that have such itineraries.

You can use your washing machine to hold additional ice/water too

Use your dish washer to protect valuable papers...place in zip lock bags then place in dish washer and lock door to seal it

Packed up and headed north I’m done with all these storms😞 the constant evacuations and starting over everytime is too much. I’ll settle for the snow ❄️ my life is valued more than Sun and entertainment at this point 😩 IM PRAYING FOR EVERYONE IN FL.

It's not the first time there have been 3 hurricanes in the Atlantic at once. Irma, Katia, Jose in 2017. It is the first time in October
