hmm wierd. in england we say that standard form is when you write a number as a number between 0 and 10 and then x 10^?, so we use it to write extremely large numbers or extremely small numbers, for constants in physics and such like.

In English and in Spanish it is the same up to the hundreds of millions (10^8), but when we get to the thousands of millions, we observe a big difference. In English, you call "billion" to the one thousand million (10^9), but in Spanish, we call "billion" to the million of millions (10^12), which you call "trillion". This is really unconvenient..! A little explanation on this would be cool..! :)

This isn't standard form.... 2, 504 is 2.504 x 10 to the power of three
