His wife’s announcement that she was holding him in her arms when he passed was heartbreaking. May they be comforted.

I think that’s the biggest compliment to a R&B singer.. “we thought you were black!” Rip

Ain’t gonna lie. When I heard his voice at first. I thought he was black because of his voice. Boy he sounded good. RIP 🙏🏽 we lost another good one.

He didn’t want ppl to judge him based on his skin color. He wanted ppl to trying hear his music and his soul without any barriers. RIP

Bobby didnt need an invite to the barbecue. All he had to do was start singing, and granny gon make him a plate

He had audiences judge him for his talent and skill and not for his skin color. Respect.

I had the pleasure of working with Bobby. He was not only a great writer, singer, and composer, but absolutely hilarious! Rest in peace, power, and love! ❤😢

Damn… I’m old enough to remember hearing it on my parents old flip-numeral clock radio back when “What You Won’t Do For Love” was released in 1978. Fast forward to creating an iTunes library in 2011, and it shows I’ve played that song almost 2, 000 times since then. RIP, my man.

I don’t care what skin color you have, if you sing from your soul, and your soul is a good one. Your music will live forever

RIP Mr. Caldwell. "What you won't do for love" is part of the soundtrack of my youth. Loved it and everyone around me did too.

It ain't the color of the skin.
It's the depth of the soul within.

RIP Bobby, may you continue to play at every black cookout I’ve ever been to for years to come.
