Hi Rosy. I'm a photographer. I wouldn't want you to shave or wax your arms before a shoot. Arm hair is natural and can catch the light beautifully. What is it nowadays that there is such a misconception about body hair on women. It is perfectly natural and normal. The worst thing I ever heard was some guy calling it unhygienic. Not washing is unhygienic. Shaving and waxing is down to personal preference but should not be dictated by idiots who have huge misconceptions about what is normal and what is not. Some of the super models like Doutzen Kroes and Candice Swanepoel have arm hair.

hairy arms are my biggest insecurity. I started shaving it as I hit the puberty around 11-13. My hair are pretty dark and strong, which probably causes the dark hair on my arms. It makes me feel so disgusting to this day about myself, I feel like a furry animal. I wouldn't shave it again, but I really want it gone.. my sister doesn't have it at all, only I do and it bothers me the most.
For once i honestly want to feel pretty ngl lol. The hair got really thick, and I bet even men have less hair on their arms than I do.

possible unpopular opinion: I'v always thought feminine arm hair (no matter the color, thickness, length, etc) is incredibly attractive. It shows confidence and is just incredibly beautiful. I know lots of guys who agree, they're just kinda afraid to admit it if that makes any sense. Just my opinion :)

I have hair on my arms, legs, knuckles, upper lip and hands. My eyebrows also have hair which I got from my dad while my mom and brother have no body hair. It’s frustrating, especially when people call it out. I can’t shave because my parents won’t let me as it’ll “grow back harder and thicker” and I usually wax, but I only wax my legs, eyebrows, and upper lip. But I’m not able to anymore due to my dermatologist, and it makes it so much more complicated. I tried threading on my eyebrow and it hurt a lot and I couldn’t even do my upper lip due to it.

i’ve been insecure about it and i started noticing sometimes i have more hair on my arms then boys. i asked some of my friends about it and they said they regret shaving and that nobody will notice as much as i do. but when i was noticing it again i asked my other friend, and she told me she shaves it and it’s not a big deal. but i don’t think she had much hair to begin with.

it’s a blessing and a curse though, my hair grows fast and is thick, everywhere. so it’s nice for my eyelashes and head hair, but a lot of other places make it frustrating.

Personally, I shaved my arms as a child and when I did it was fine for the next year I didn’t have to and then when they got hairy I did it and it was fine so it depends on ur hair.

Okay, I have arms with light colored hair, its thin and blondish although I am a brunette. Its actually darker a bit in the summer. I wasn't so self-concious about it until I was in my mid 20's. I didn't do anything until I began waxing it. It grew out thinner and more sparse. Let me also tell you that I used to have lots of dark hair on my thighs, so I took a leap and had my thighs done with laser hair removal. It was done at a doctor's office and the hair never grew back with 3 treatments. It was expensive but worth for me.
The reason shaving is bad is not because the hair grows back thicker, but because once it is shaven, the angle of the hair coming out is in a slant, and thus it looks more bushy and bristly.

as a teenager turning 16 this summer, i have a question to anyone who may have answers. i'm really insecure with my thick body hair, and i never had a problem with it on anyone else but myself. i never really had a problem with my thick body hair too until i reached around 14, i grew self conscious at some point when someone pointed out about my thick body hair. now present, i don't hate it-- in fact, i believe body hair is natural and beautiful. i already shave my legs and my "feminine mustache" but i'm scared to shave my arms. since i've heard that shaving the arms is most likely a bad idea, is there a much better way other than to trim it? i just want to lessen it, so that it isn't always thick... i'm not sure if it's possible? but if anyone has any suggestions, please do tell me. i'm in urgent need of an answer now that spring is here and summer is rolling in 😅

for all the people who are worried about their hair changing after you shave, your hair will NOT get longer or thicker. It might appear that way because you see yourself hairless, then suddenly you have hair. The comparison is what makes it feel thicker, it doesn’t actually change. (btw when i say this i dont mean it will be exactly the same, there is a prickly stage when your hair grows back) anyways, stay confident everyone!!

Even though it's ~meant~ for men, I use a philips trimmer on my arms. It's faster and does the same thing! Can use it on intimate areas too.

I already have a hard time shaving my legs I wouldn’t shave my arms even though they are hairy…😂

I also had a really bad experience with nair… It burned by skin which isn’t really normal so I definitely don’t recommend it

Does the hair trimmer make arm hairs grow thick? because once I shave my arms and the arm hair just turned really prickly and I don’t want to shave them again.
