I've been working for BMW and that button, that you have to push to open the fuel cap is to prevent the petrol from exploding in your face. Petrol vapor can potentially built up and won't be burned off, if you drive in electric mode for too long. All hybrid cars have that button to get rid of petrol vapor

11:17 although a bit gimmicky nowadays, Porsche is the last automaker to keep the tradition of the LeMans-style start ignition switch. Back in the day, racing drivers would run to their cars, start them and drive off. Porsches has the ignition switch located opposite of the gear shifter so drivers could shave a few seconds by simultaneously starting the car with one hand, using the other to shift into first and set off faster than their competition... good times.

Great review. Just one comment... the criticism regarding the volume control on the console... once you’ve owned the car, you’ll realize that the swivel knob and volume control are perfectly placed when you are resting your hand on the shift lever, which is intentionally shaped like a little platform to rest the heel of your hand on while your fingers can basically reach pretty much all the controls on the console as well as the touchscreen. It’s brilliant once you get used to it, and clearly it was designed that way from scratch as it works so very well. Just wanted to point that out, as you mentioned the same thing with the Panamera. Great review, I enjoy all your videos.

Porsche is the master of changing their designs while keeping them the same. A kid at my school drives an older Cayenne, and, despite being almost the same shape, it looks so old. Same deal with 911s. The new ones are the same shape but look so different

Mat is honestly the best car reviewer ever. I’ve bought 2 cars based on his suggestions.

I test drove both the e-hybrid and the S back to back. I found that the hybrid felt sportier and far more reactive. The torque is available straight away, and the manner in which the electric and petrol engine kick in together is fantastic. Off a race track, I would image the e-hybrid would be the more fun. As for the green elements, these can all be 'removed' free of charge. Just a question of taste whether which way you want to go. The options list on Porsche, as with many German cars, is long and can add up. Still, the best SUV that I have had the chance to drive by quite some margin.

I like the acid green calipers and trim. Reminds me of the 918 Spyder and also looks pretty cool, especially if the car is black.

Shouldn't a reversing camera be standard in 2018

Love that it doesn't follow the typical "stick the ipad-looking thing on the dash" design trend. Very nice layout, especially with the analog/digital cockpit.

Well the painted brakes come green as standard but you can pay extra for them to be normal

There's something I can't understand. How come the touch screens in these expensive cars are so laggy? I mean you would expect a screen to be smooth when you pay over 50 grand for a car, no?

Surprised that Yiannimize wasn’t hiding somewhere in the trunk 😂👍🏻

Hi carwow guys. I love your reviews. Even though I'm an all EV guy now, I'm still interested in features of other cars. One thing I would like to recommend you guys do in the future; try to review some functions of center console roof buttons and features. You seem to miss that in every car you have reviewed. Just a nice tip for the future! Keep up the good work and I hope to see more EV reviews when they get readily available to you
