I think this sort of shoe that concentrates on getting the basics right appeals to me far more than the more esoteric shoes you often review. Understated but high quality in a subtle way without saying "look at me".

Good review. I think there's a mathematical formula for great shoes, and maybe J.M. Weston figured it out. You have a critical eye and weren't able to find a significant flaw — winner, winner, chicken dinner!

Thank you for the review. A question about the sizing. You mentioned purchasing a half size down. You mentioned size 9.5 (a "9/" in JMW specs). Are you a 10UK or a 10US? Am I correct in assuming that you purchased these in a standard D width?

There's not a lot of information on JMW sizing on the internet and much of it is conflicting and based on the 180 Moccasin. So your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
