Anytime you travel, vacation, visit or relocate and or buy a house, you hope you find friendly people. Most of the time, it isn't hard to do, especially if you know where to go to better your odds of finding friendly and welcoming people.
Today we look at the friendliest countries according to people that travel a lot and travel professionals.
Travel is one of my favorite things, and anytime I meet friendly people, it just improves the trip.

I am so surprised that THAILAND is not on your friendliest list of countries! I also thought that the PHILIPPINES was the friendliest country in the world! Most Southeast Asian countries are very friendly and accommodating to foreigners!

I’m an American living here in the Philippines. Easy to acquire a visa to live here, and people are friendly, and most of them speak English. I’ve also lived in Viet-Nam and Spain, also countries with great people.

I like the Philippines, and I've lived in Thailand for 13 years, and Thailand gets my vote as an extremely friendly place. Vietnam is very friendly too, as is Malaysia. I guess you might say that SE Asia is a very welcoming area.

Completely agree with Portugal. We enjoyed everything about our visit there; the food, the wine the sights, but especially the people.

As a Greek, I totally agree with Portugal being No1. Both Greece and Portugal base their economies on tourism and many times I hear that we have things in common. But visiting Portugal was the best experience of my life. It felt like home, and I dare to say it was even better because people were really really nice. Beautiful landscape and great food. I know that both countries struggle with financial crisis, and I really admired and respected the fact that the portuguese were smiling and warm-hearted. I have Portugal in my heart. Obrigado!

Yes, most people in Portugal are extremely friendly. I've been living in Portugal since 2018.
Customer service at most stores and attention to the public by civil servants, though, is unfortunately a whole different story. Still, all things considered, it's an amazing country and there's no such thing as the perfect place under the sun.
