PlaceIt VS Vexels | Why I Use Them Both To Run My T-shirt Business

Placeit and vexels are packed with features which make them both amazing... A lot of people compare the 2 or think they do the same thing, and whilst they have similar features, they are known for 2 very different things. Placeit is a mockup king! They have mockups for every single thing you could need, whereas vexels have a few basic mockups, nothing special.
Vexels on the other hand are the graphic kings... they have vectors for everything and their library is so vast!

Hey,
My name is Shimmy Morris, I’m currently 25 years old, and I’ve been interested in business since I was 12. I started selling in School; food, drinks, phones, etc… Then I moved onto bigger more expensive items with eBay. I always did side jobs during school as well, like photography, editing, etc.
At age 18 I started Print on Demand, my first business. I was hugely successful in this business and it kickstarted what was to come. I sold over $70k worth of apparel in a very short space of time. I moved into Amazon FBA and creating real scalable brands. My Amazon Business just passed a huge milestone of $500k which is just massive for me!
I started private coaching/consulting a few years ago and I was told I was pretty good at teaching which is what inspired me to start this Youtube channel and create my first course which was an Amazon FBA Course, which now has over 200 students who love it!

A bit about me not business-related. I’m incredibly sporty and love being active… Snowboarding, mountain biking, football, basketball, table tennis, you name it, I probably do it! As well as that, I love photography and specifically travel photography. Above all else, I’m a proper petrolhead and like the occasional electric car too.

Bought the annual subs for PlaceIt through your link Shimmy. Still unsure about Vexels. I mix n match my designs a lot...so it would be very hard to remember which artwork had Vexels image in it...if I cancelled their subs. Anyway would they even know? So much artwork out there. lol

Hi Shimmy, do you know if using the print ready designs on vexels is okay for Etsy or amazon merch? I know that Etsy say they like unique designs do you think they would close my store down because others may have uploaded the graphic too?

I had the dilemma of choosing placeit / canva / vexels / freepik as of last night. I chose freepik (do you have any thoughts on that?). I'm still thinking of purchasing vexels before the black friday sale ends.

I think it is time to draw our own artwork. The POD companies tend to promote the unique art rather than Common art from Vexels. ESP Socoet6 and Tee public you can’t win.

No matter how people try to explain away Vexels' outrageous licensing there can be little doubt it's a complete rip off!

Can you imagine the outcry if Microsoft suddenly announced the same deal for documents created in Word or Excel - or how about Adobe doing the same for all designs created in Photoshop or Illustrator?

They're not "exactly" the same situations but they're close enough.

When I pay to access any kind of software or service to create original things - I expect that whatever I create must be 100% mine to use in perpetuity - whenever and wherever I choose!

Probably worth while to buy the permanent license once you have a design that is still selling great if you want to retire or cut out the subscription that way you have qualified the design first.

Yeah, I agree with you in theory. This isn't our artwork so the people who did create it need to get paid for it. Normally, as you said, you'd have to pay per graphic to use them. At least with this, you can download a lot more without paying per graphic so it's a great deal. However, I would not recommend Vexels to anyone. I'm still having issues actually receiving the service after paying them $415. They keep saying they're going to fix it and then go MIA and don't fix it. I paid 3 days ago and haven't been able to even use it. I get that they must be bombarded because of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, but they literally stop their customer service at 1:00PM PST and every time I ask for their business hours they read my message and don't respond. This is probably the worse customer service experience I've ever seen. I'll be sticking with Placeit and Canva if nothing changes by tomorrow and disputing the charge with my credit card.

I agree Shimmy it's bit of an excuse to stop making designs if you worry about all that license stuff. You are still a paying customer for them so you're not stealing. Btw have started making designs again :D? I'm pretty sure you've said multiple times that you're focusing in other stuff and POD is just sitting there. And about the design request for Vexels, i would love to see the end result if you would be willing to show it, maybe just something generic. The design won't be exclusive for you anyway and will end up in their site for everyone to use.

i think that in the fine print its only merch vexel account i think u can still use them on the smaller accounts if its not a merch one i could be wrong

Should I check if there is any copyright on the design? I wanna create my own design but honestly there are some designs which I wanna use on my t-shirts. Thanks/

A few videos ago, you gave away a free lifetime subscription to Placeit. That interested me as I currently have an annual Placeit subscription. I phoned Placeit and they told me they don't have any lifetime subscriptions. How do I go about getting a lifetime subscription with Placeit and how much does it cost?
