Just a tip: If you don't want to use up a Sacrificial Twig, you can instead use the Twiggy Cracked Tear for your Physick flask, which has the same effect. It lasts for three minutes, more than long enough for the trick. You can grab it for free from the Minor Erdtree north of Leyndell.

This seems like way more work than simply fighting a boss that you can kill in like 15 seconds with the right loadout.

you can just jump into the pit while riding torrent and continually swing your weapon to not die...you dont need to do such a precise spell trick...
