Zelenskyy Visits Ukraine’s Kherson After Russian Retreat | VOANews #shorts

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed troops in the newly liberated Ukrainian city of Kherson Monday and said that Ukraine is “ready for peace, peace for all our country.”

MORE: The president’s appearance in Kherson came just days after Russian troops retreated from the southeastern city, one of the war’s biggest losses for Russian President Vladimir Putin, whose troops had controlled the regional capital since near the start of the war in February.

U.S. President Joe Biden, speaking at a news conference in Indonesia, called the Ukrainian takeover of Kherson “a significant victory” for the Kyiv government.

“I can do nothing but applaud the courage, determination and capacity of the Ukrainian people and Ukrainian military,” Biden said. “They have been amazing.”

But he said the Western allies supporting Ukraine would not force a settlement on Ukraine to end the war. He said there would be “nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine” agreeing to it.

The U.K. Defense Ministry said Monday in an intelligence update posted on Twitter that the upcoming winter months “will bring a change in conflict conditions for both Russian and Ukrainian forces.”

If Ukraine wanted to be a partner of Western Allies, Ukraine could have been their business partner or whatever but should have avoided the proposal as military alliance.. Considering the fact that there were always huge tensions among USA (NATO and Western allies) and Soviet Union.. Both USA and USSR had belt of nations away from their actual border.. Including Ukraine to East Germany was part of Soviet belt which kept Western border far away from their Capital Moscow.. When Soviet Union collapsed and new Russia formed, both parties agreed to withdraw their border far away from each other, so Russia agreed and retreated to their actual border and gave independent to many nations including Ukraine.. And USA(and Western allies) promised to never come closer to Russian border..

But now they (USA and her allies) wants to come just next to Russian border by insisting Ukraine to join them..

That's why I support Russia whether win or lose and want Russia to take whole Ukraine.. But because of that I don't want innocent Ukrainians to suffer as they have been suffering since february, 2022.. So peace talks should be seek and Ukraine should assure that she would never be a part of Russia's rival's military partner..
