My take away is that, if you are going to practice such spiritual practices, you should still be involved with your community and the daily affairs of your nation. Not just sit back and watch the sparks set off until they become a raging fire.

Introspective Meditation is still very helpful at improving your mind, personality, happiness and your whole life. You can certainly practice meditation while still being aware of whats going on in the country. One might use meditation and spirituality to help combat marxist revolution and subversion going on in the west. Meditation is not a bad thing, ignoring geo political awareness is.
