How to: Build a Rowlinson Verona FSC Wooden Pergola with a Canopy
Показать описание
In this video, we're going to show you how to construct the Rowlinson Verona FSC Wooden Pergola with a Canopy.
We refer to the instructions that you get in the box to give you a visual guide as well as the written ones that you receive.
In the box:
There are various wooden components that make this elegant and sturdy pergola. All of this beautiful natural timber has been pressure treated to help prevent rot and keep it looking beautiful for years to come.
You also get a polyester canopy that is showerproof and easily removed for winter storage. Plus, metal runners that allow the canopy to retract, letting in the sun on those beautiful sunny days.
And of course, the various fixings and instructions.
To construct you will need:
A drill with a 3mm and 10mm wood drill bit, a spanner or socket set, spirit level, step ladder and some lubricant spray.
Construction:
Step 1 requires parts 1, 2 and 10:
Ensure that 5 runners are placed on each outer track, the inner track should already be fitted with the centre runners.
Step 2a requires parts 1, 4, 14, 15 & 16:
Lay 2 “outer legs” down on a platform with the grove facing up. Then place the “left-hand track” between each leg onto those grooves. It’s very important that you ensure the legs are square with the track and also that the legs are pushed right up to the metal track insert. Then drill some pilot holes using the 10mm wood bit and insert the nut bolt and washer.
Step 2b requires parts 2, 4, 14, 15 & 16:
Simply repeat step 2a but this time placing the “right-hand track” on top of the last two “outer legs”.
Step 2c requires parts 3, 5, 14, 15 & 16:
Again, repeat step 2a only this time place the “center track with the pulley system” inside the the 2 “center legs”.
Step 2d requires parts 13 & 18:
Once the center piece is assembled, attach the “cleat” the pole using the 40mm black screws.
Step 3 requires parts 6 & 17:
Stand up the three leg sections and position a “rafter” at each end across these leg sections. Drill pilot holes above each leg section using the 3mm wood bit and secure it with 70mm screws. Space the final 5 “rafters” evenly between the two end ones. Fix each as you did the first two.
Step 4 requires parts 7 & 17:
Using the “corner braces” secure each leg to the end “rafter”. Again, you should drill pilot holes using a 3mm drill bit before screwing in the 70mm screw.
Step 5 requires parts 8, 9, 12 & 18:
Slide each “fixed canopy tube” through the last 2 spaces in the “canopy”. Connect the two together using the “tube extension joint”. You may have to remove the stoppers in the tubes first.
Fix these 2 canopy tubes to the canopy legs , just under the tracks using the 40mm screws secure the end of each tube.
Step 6a:
Lubricate each track and wipe away any excess.
Step 6b requires part 11:
Push each of the 10 “canopy tubes” through the tube holders and connect it to the centre runners. When you push into the center runners ensure that the push mechanism is properly loaded.
Once done, you can enjoy your pergola open or closed.
