Vanessa, I love the editing of arrows & emphasis while you’re explaining the gestures to really point out the micro expressions. Super easy to see & follow. I’d love to see other interviews of other people dissected like this🤓

This is a really informative video. Could you read Michael Jackson's body language and cues from his past interviews?

"There's no better way to dismantle a personality than to isolate it" So much pain in that interview. It's interesting to see how shame and psychological isolation (pr isolation of any kind) can rob a confident person of their voice and power.

This video reminds me of Amber Heard. Princess Diana does not look genuine to me.

you have no idea how much I've searched about her charisma
I dont care if u think its done on purpose or she's a gift from god but I have never seen someone so universally charismatic

Her lack of pretension was also charming and mysterious

Love the analysis. My mum used to say princess Diana has the face of “sorry mum, I haven’t done my homework” (aka please don’t bite me face…) It wasn’t meant to be a mean comment about her or anything. My mum thought she was a beautiful lady but after hearing your body language analysis she wasn’t too far off! “

Do you think princess Diana was aware of her body language when she's doing such gestures? Or did she know what she's going to act in interviews she's having?

This is brilliant, I love learning about body language given that the body language ''talks'' more than the words if only we know how to read it!

Besides innate temperament, I think her body language characteristics can be explained by her unsupportive relationship with Charles. If you have a supportive partner, they make you feel more secure. With an unsupportive partner, they do the opposite. Hence, the vulnerable and closed body language (even before they were married). Also, the contemptuous smirks is probably due largely to her yucky relationship with Charles. Diana strikes me as a bit manipulative also.

Princess Diana kept her head down while talking because she was taller than most people (according to Google)

I can understand Diana's contempt and anger; she gorgeous and stunning and the mother of chazzy boi's kids, one of which will be a KING....and yet chazzy prefers someone that looks like the back end of a horse! I also think she thought that other members of the RF would back her and tell chaz to stop messing about and concentrate on his wife...but they didn't, I don't expect she asked them to, I suspect she sulked and flounced about expecting someone to ask...but they didn't. as a brit we don't really do feelings or interfer...we're even uncomfortable butting in when ASKED

Thank you Vanessa, this is an interesting analysis, but ultimately flawed.
The pictures and videos we see of Princess Diana are highly edited and the very choice of what images to show was based on how the media manipulated her image. Further, she had image consultants and communications coaches galore. We will never know how much of her image was carefully curated (by herself, too!) and how much was her subconscious peaking through.
I think most of her early "coquettishness" was artfully studied, as was her post-divorce confidence.
In general, I'm convinced that the body language of public figures is a highly unreliable reflection of human nature. It is however an interesting study of image manipulation and how difficult (or easy?) it is to get away with it!

Funny isn't it that Diana herself says about there's no better way to dismantle a personality than to isolate it....25yrs later her second son experiences the EXACT same thing, but that is self inflicted..maybe he should watch this video!

I remember you mentioning a long time ago that the press loved Princess Di. It's awesome that you go in depth here. Thanks!

No mention of her constant head tilted to one side. What does that mean? It was one thing I really noticed about her in photos and videos. She must have had neck aches from it surely?

Very great and interesting video. Mainly what I liked of Princess Diana's body language is that, for example in some of her interactions with the people, particularly while she was doing charity work, Diana's body language often reflected genuine compassion and empathy. Since she was known for her ability to connect with individuals on a personal level, and her gestures, such as touching and holding hands, conveyed a sense of care. But what captivated me most about her body language was how she frequently made eye contact with the people she interacted with, conveying a sense of connection and empathy.

By the other hand, when Diana was often photographed in various settings and situations, her body language adapted accordingly to the moment. Whether if she was engaging with dignitaries, comforting patients in hospitals, or participating in sports, she displayed a versatile range of body language during her personal and private life. Also another characteristic body language that I love from Diana, was when she was photographed with her children, Diana often exhibited a protective and nurturing body language. Like physical closeness, hugging, and holding hands with her sons showcased her strong maternal instincts.
