Joseph Burgo, Ph.D. is a clinical psychologist, psychoanalyst, and media commentator. In addition to his blog for Psychology Today, he also writes about personal development issues from a psychodynamic perspective on his personal blog After Psychotherapy. He’s the author of several books centered primarily on the relationship between shame and narcissism. As a therapist with more than 40 years in private practice, Dr. Burgo currently focuses on gender distress, detransition, and problems of identity. He serves on the Leadership Team for the Gender Exploratory Therapy Association and as Clinical Lead for Beyond Transition, a program offered through Genspect.

Thank you, FAIR. I cannot tell you enough how much I value these conversations. Every chance I get, I bring up the topic of de-transitioners and how young people are not receiving proper mental health care. The more removed somebody is from an 'educated' background (ie University), the more open they are to these points. Most knew, in their hearts, that something wasn't right about this new narrative. They just didn't have the right media sources to hear an alternate point of view.

And, the opposite has also been true. Those with the 'educated/University' background and view themselves as allies have not wanted to have these discussions. And, what has been truly heartbreaking, is these people are genuinely caring and compassionate individuals.

I didn't believe that the standards of care document contained a link to the kinds of stories described in the video. Sure enough, I found the WPATH standards of care V8 document and the link is in there... I am very happy there are people calling the organization out for this.

I AM a Queer Nuero Divergent Human of 53. I was a Caregiver for 3 MTF and 2 FTM. ALL over 35. All had years of therapy, mental health screenings, weekly therapy and lived as the desired gender for a full year before being cleared for hormones and removal of healthy body parts.

I was SHOCKED at children and young teens wete being given hormones after one visit. No follow up.

The Whistle-blowers who were also Queer one married to a trans man. They both were shocked by the change in clients post 20 20.

One clinic went from 40 or so MTF with LIFELONG gender distress. Too over 2000 Girls many Autistic and many drom foster care with multiple diagnosis.

Others were clearly in need of mental health support for Sexual assault physical and emotional abuse. Not exactly a great time to start cross sex hormones.

There was ZERO mental health screenings and hormones given out like candy. With no research to speak of.

I AM forgiving myself now for what I couldn't know then. No more silence. These young humans cannot defend themselves.

Is everyone else seeing the “Context Panel” from the Trevor Project? I just used the feedback feature to ask YouTube how and why they allow this trans advocacy group to levy this warning on this video—and many other videos concerning the WPATH files.

The problem is this organization has become activist driven, not science driven or with the best interest of people in mind. When you ask them about mental health precautions for children suffering from gender dysphoria, they quickly get defensive. Truly sad

An excellent decision for Zander Keig not to remain on the WPATH Ethics committee. In the rural community I live in here in Australia farmers have a saying “about as useful as tits on a bull” and that sums up my opinion in regard to Zanders contribution. This is the second FAIR video I’ve watched and I find it surreal that a 63year old grandmother in rural Australia knows more about trans gender ideology and the travesty of the organisation that calls itself WPATH than Zander does. It is truly dissonant to realise that Zander (my apologies for somewhat clumsy grammar, I refuse to use wrong sex pronouns) lives in such a closed off echo chamber of a world that they have no conception of the widespread and well informed opposition to trans genderism.
Bizarre and mind boggling. As the Social Justice Warriors say - time to get educated.

How come insurance is covering cosmetic care?
I believe Obama care has language that makes allowing for "trans" to be considered necessary for life.
It seems good will towards the gay community was highjacked.

Zander, how is possible that you contributed to the WPATH ethics committee without being fully aware of the really dark origin of the “eunuch” chapter in SOC8. I would assume you would be an expert on the entire SOC8 content. There is nothing ethical about this document and the eunuch materials make this glaringly obvious.

I know there are some among you who are so full of themselves they never listen to anyone, let alone me. They don’t think I’ll ever show up in person. But I’ll be there sooner than you think, God willing, and then we’ll see if they’re full of anything but hot air. God’s Way is not a matter of mere talk; it’s an empowered life.

Don't worry Zander they are coming for adults as now in Florida a physician's assistant or nurse practitioner can not prescribe even estrogen and a patient has to be seen for each fill monthly in the office. Furthermore Medicare and Medicaid can't be used to cover any hormonal related care or surgeries or complications thereof even for adults. Now if you get diabetes, they'll say it's related to transgender care. Heart disease at 70 they'll say is a direct result of the transgender sin. You greased the wheel for this and hopefully you'll be institutionalized as well but don't look out for me to save you because I won't be free thanks to you!
