Whenever a Makari dies, a new Gretchin is selected to take his place. Yet despite being entirely different individuals, each iteration of Makari is able to recall the memories of their predecessors. So just how exactly is Makari able to be ‘resurrected’ time and again?

Narrated by Naerina. Thanks for covering for me while I was sick,

Gazgul believes the new Gretchen is his old Gretchen. Orks would make the best life coaches. If you believe it it will come true

I want to believe that both Makari and Ghazgul are the chosen ones of Gork and Mork

Maybe, just maybe Makari's 'resurrections' or at least his luck are somehow connected to that strange and suspiciously unorky trinket on his wrist.
Hell, maybe he has his own soul gem an while other Orks think it's because of Ghazkhull's touch it's actually because of the gem, he took from Makari's corpse.

He's just the Orkish equivalent of an Imperial Saint. The Emperor protects, but Gork and Mork know where all the best fights will be.

Ghazgkulll and Makari are psychic anchors for each other. Neither can ever actually die as long as one is alive.

Naerina's narrations are always lovely, and this was no exception! Get well soon, Inquisitor!

I always figured he was a memetic being, given how memes (the concept not the jokes) function for orks

I'm not sure Ghazghkull and Makari are entirely separate beings any more. It sounds like each "Makari" is imbued with the spirit of his predecessor by the touch of Ghazghkull's hand - whether or not it's attached to a living Ghaz. Seems Makari is an extension of Ghaz's soul. That being the case, Makari could serve as an anchor point in the resurrection of Ghazghkull as well.

Killing that lucky little green bugger in second edition was hard work. Those 2+ unmodified saves were truly frustrating. 😤

Do you guys think an all-Makari tabletop army would be effective? I can't honestly imagine a lot of things getting through the 2+ invuln.

I think Ghazgkhull only marks the Gretchin. This mark can be perceived subconsiously by all Orks. It is the Waaagh field of the boys that makes the Gretching Makari, as they believe he will be.
The reincarnation does not need ot be perfect. If enough Orks believe a certain story of Makaris death, Ghazgkhull himself will propably believe it like that.
As for needing Makari to bring Ghagkhull back: Since some of the Ork bosses (and thus their boys) believed he was nessesary, so he _was_ nessesary. That is the downside of Ork believe - if some believe in a requirement, it becomes a requirement (at least for that group and possibly for the whole).

Makari and Ghazkull are the incarnations of Mork and Gork.
Makari is Mork who is brutally cunning
Ghazkull is Gork who is cunningly brutal
