Gosh these games are beautiful. I completely missed the Sega CD, there were too many major consoles that were happening during that time. I am honestly blown away

Cheapest way to play Keio Flying Squadron legitimately is to buy the demo of it, as JVC screwed up and left the level select cheat in, unlocking the full game (did a piece about it on my "Game Demos that Accidentally Contain the full game" video) :D

Also, ThunderHawk!!!

I'm so glad that you got around to mentioning Snatcher. It's a game that managed to accomplish so much given the limited hardware. It's easily one of my all-time favorite video games.

Wait, what?! The Final Fight soundtrack on SCD is absolutely one of the best renditions of any game soundtrack ever made! Damn dude!

Always great to see more coverage of the Sega CD / Mega CD - its a really underrated system. I love collecting for it.

It's like the polar opposite of the AVGN review from 2007. All I saw this time are good games and I'm happy for it. This was a terrific idea SNES drunk

You forgot to mention Eternal Champions for the Sega CD. It was legit awesome! There were so many different types of fatalities.

My dad loved dark wizard, shining force and Lunar when I was young.

I put on the soundtrack of Lord's of Thunder at friend's friend's friend's place before watching Kill Bill. The girl that lived there disappeared into her room and came out with a Sega CD copy of the game. Said her dad worked there for some time and she randomly kept this one game over the years "for some reason." It was an epic exchange of non-gamer to gamer and one I shall never forget. 🥰

TL;DR Got a copy of Lords of Thunder randomly from a kid whose dad actually worked for SEGA.

Other good games are the Sega CD versions of Earthworm Jim, Mickey Mania, Prince of Persia, and Rise of the Dragon.

Holy crap I’ve never even heard of most of these and they all look awesome. This is pure gold. Thank you SNES Drunk!

Lunar 1&2 were some of the best JRPG’s ever created. Before their time and stuck on a console that didn’t get them the recognition they deserved. The cinematics and story still hold up well. And it was a great RPG to play to boot.

I feel like 80% of these games were new to me.
Nice to see a video highlighting how many gems the Sega CD had!

One of my first introductions to the scd was Rise of the Dragon. Basically a playable novel, but it was a wild ride when I was younger

A very comprehensive guide to a very often overlooked system. New shoot em ups always catch my attention, but I can't help to mention that every time I hear about Human Entertainment then George Costanza's face crosses my mind with the saying "games for people"

Total length of video: 660 secs.
Total length of "SEGA Drunk": 4 secs.

.61% of the video was spent listening to "SEGA Drunk".

A really great summary of some of the best/most interesting games on the system. Glad to see some Core games on there - they were to the Mega CD what Rare were to the N64. If you were to ever do a second video, then I would recommend the following:
Thunderhawk - another Core game with plenty of scaling.
Jaguar XJ220 - if you like Top Gear on the SNES, then you'll like this too
Dune - great mix of point and click adventure with resource management/strategy
WW3 - a unique strategy game
BC Racers - another Core game, this time like Mario Kart (but with Road Rash-style punching)
Rise of the Dragon - similar to Snatcher
Mansion of Hidden Souls - a Myst-like "horror" game

The Mega CD also arguably had the best 16-bit versions of many games: Earthworm Jim, NBA Jam etc. It was definitely more than just an FMV machine (although, I have to admit I quite enjoyed some of those too)

Eternal Champions: Challenge from the Dark Side was amazing -- one of the most underrated fighters of all time, with absolutely brutal kills.
