Still my fav Journey song of all time. Back in the early 80's, my next door neighbor used to play with Neil Schon's father at a bar in Jack London Square. I'd sit there for hours listening to them playing and just hang out.

Truly a very special moment in time. The stars were aligned to produce sounds so passionately embodying the pop/ rock idiom, yet also sweetly transcending it to achieve the beautific.

Perry: Thee most powerful baritone voice in rock music.
Small world? Yes. He lives just a couple of miles away from my house.
Unique thing about Journey were 2 things in my observations. The exchange of 2 vocalists, with their signature styles. The other is hardly ever a mid-song guitar solo. The solo always ended the tracks in about 95% of their work. Neal Schon is a genius at this. It is so cool to hear this unique arrangement, even in 2024.
