D-Day Then & Now: 82nd Airborne Division 1944
Показать описание
From Omaha Beach to Utah Beach: On D-Day, June 6, 1944, at least four detachments of the 165th Signal Photographic Company landed on the coast of Normandy to document the Allied Invasion of Europe. These combat photographers were armed, not with guns, but with cameras. In our newest mini-documentary we will be following three of the four detachments as we uncover their footage on the locations where they shot it.
Reuben Weiner was one of the cameramen attached to the 82nd Airborne Division. He was part of Detachment ‘O’ of the 165th Signal Photo Company. He and the other men of the detachment received parachute jump training for their jump on D-Day. Together with Florent Plana we followed in his footsteps.
