Story behind the dedication:
We had an inspiring experience recently when we were asked by a woman whose husband was serving in the military if she could surprise her 5 very young children on stage at one of our concerts. Her husband had come home much earlier than expected and just in time for Christmas. It was an incredibly touching reunion. The audience stood and applauded for several minutes, stopping intermittently only to wipe their eyes. It is a memory we will never forget. This moment had a powerful effect on us -- it helped us to realize how much military families sacrifice to preserve the freedom we take for granted each day. We dedicate this song to these heroic families.

Words to Bring Him Home

God on high
Hear my prayer
In my need
You have always been there

He is young
He's afraid
Let him rest
Heaven blessed.
Bring him home
Bring him home
Bring him home.

He's like the son I might have known
If God had granted me a son.
The summers die
One by one
How soon they fly
On and on
And I am old
And will be gone.

Bring him peace
Bring him joy
He is young
He is only a boy

You can take
You can give
Let him be
Let him live
If I die, let me die
Let him live
Bring him home
Bring him home
Bring him home.

words by Herbert Kretzmer & Alain Boublil

Please Piano Guys if your still reading the comments in 2023. You have a huge fan base in the U.K. who would love to see you live. Not just in the Big cities but the smaller cities especially the West Country of England we would flock to see you. We need your music in these days of uncertainty. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

As a former soldier and having been to Afghanistan, it means so much  that these two gentlemen would dedicate this to our troops in harm's way. Everything they do is classy!

My little girl just made her stage debut in Les Miserables at the age of 10.  About one week into rehearsals, she made the observation that "Bring Him Home" was a lot like how she said her prayers when her 'birth dad' was overseas.  I wasn't quite sure how to respond, since I worry about how much she knows about her bio dad's job.  I played this for her, and made sure that she saw the dedications.  Now she asks me to play it about once a week.  It appeals to her on both an artistic and a personal level, and allowed her to connect parts of the play she has grown to adore with her own personal life.  Growing from here, she has connected other parts of the play with the way her bio dad responds to things in her life, giving her a way to understand him.  Thank you, Piano Guys - you have opened so many new worlds for my little girl through the gorgeous music that you create.

Every time I hear this beautiful, beautiful song, it touches the deepest part of my soul; it brings tears streaming down my face as I am overcome by emotion for what God is doing in my life, while I now battle Stage IV breast cancer, which was diagnosed only a few months ago with a prognosis not very encouraging. I do not know the day nor the hour, but God's knows when He will bring me to His heavenly home. He promised to never leave me or forsake me, and He never has. I trust in Him completely knowing it is well with my soul as God brings me under His wings to protect and He will never let go of me. This beautiful arrangement will most certainly be part of my Celebration of Life service as I begin choosing other inspirational songs and hymns, so others may hear, see, believe and want to receive His grace in their lives.

Me: **puts on chill music to write assignment to the tune of**
Me: **starts crying instead**

Man, this might be the most heartfelt rendition of Bring Him Home I've ever heard.

I must add one further note - my husband and I speak ASL (American Sign Language) and this piece interprets so beautifully with the hands - it is just a lovely piece to sign and you play with such empathy and compassion - I cannot get all the way through the piece without crying - but, that's OK - tears are a universal language also, especially happy tears. Thank you again.

I know that this song is meant for military families, but I can't help but feel touched when I hear it. It reminds me of my dear dad. Until I see you again. Eight years and counting. <3

It is possible to hear in the background the voice of God. I close my eyes and listen with your heart. God is there. Sensational. From São Paulo, Brazil.

No one does it like these guys. The way they perform this, words would just get in the way. So mournful, yet so beautiful!

This version of Bring Him Home is just as powerful and emotional, as it is if someone sings this song. I’m listening to this video on Fathers Day, and I remember not just my father, who passed away, but all of my relatives and friends who are enjoying Fathers Day today with our Lord.😪🙏🏼

Believe it or not, my almost 10 year old son is a fan of Le Mis (the parts I let him watch anyways), and this was by far his favorite song!!! More and more you guys (and not his musician mommy) are the ones inspiring him to play music!! Now he's asking me to teach him piano, my flute, buy him a violin, and find him percussion lessons!!!

Beautiful song and so gently delivered! My heart goes out to the Schmidt family. At least there is hope in Christ. Families are indeed forever. Hopefully that faith will smooth out the sharp and persistent ache of losing a cherished daughter.

OH MY beautiful. I played it three times and could play it more still. I never thought I could love cello so much. I am buying this so I can play it to sleep at night, for use as background when I do dishes, wash my car, read, cook, drive, do my taxes, garden, etc etc etc. Love it! Just beautiful! Thank you, Piano Guys!

The emotion they put into this is just breath taking. I can't help but sing along with them and after lose myself in the music. Then I don't even realize it just ended. Thank you so much for this video that is beyond words to describe.
